Role Overview: The Maintenance Technician III performs complex technical repairs and preventive maintenance on bakery equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and computerized systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, parts installation, equipment overhauls, testing, and record-keeping in the computerized maintenance system.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides technical repairs to complex electronic, mechanical, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  2. Troubleshoots, repairs, fabricates, and/or installs electronic systems, gauges, instrumentation, and mechanical and electronic interfaces.
  3. Maintains and programs electronic, electric, and pneumatic controls and instrumentation used in equipment performance, building automation, fire protection, material handling, and energy measurement systems.
  4. Assists production staff in diagnosing malfunctions.
  5. Performs major equipment overhauls, tests repaired equipment, and manages changeovers or extended downtime.
  6. Maintains production equipment according to schedule.
  7. Operates machinery and tools such as saws, drills, power tools, lifts, and forklifts.
  8. Maintains records and communicates via the Maintenance Management System and email.
  9. Follows quality assurance, GMPs, safety protocols, and complies with regulations.
  10. Ensures a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  11. Coordinates with bakery personnel and other departments to minimize production disruptions.
  12. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma with at least 4 years of experience in instrumentation, measurement, control systems, electronics, or mechanical/electrical experience in industrial machinery; or 6 years of similar experience. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.
  2. At least 4 years of experience troubleshooting PLC software, I/O, and field devices, with mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
  3. Experience in refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or food manufacturing process controls.
  4. Knowledge of equipment setup, operation, and preventive maintenance techniques.
  5. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
  6. Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control system documentation, including PID diagrams, electrical drawings, and mechanical diagrams.
  7. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with adaptability to change.
