• 1-3 years of residential, multifamily, or related maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC basics.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers/tablets.
• Availability for on-call activities during after-hours emergencies.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people and personalities.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs involving appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues while providing excellent customer service.
• Complete assigned service requests, work orders, and apartment turns in accordance with company standards.
• Support preventive maintenance programs, building and safety inspections, and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Snow removal and lawn cutting.
• Cleaning buildings, walls, floors, stairwells, carpets, and windows.
• Lift and move items as determined by the Director of Maintenance or other personnel.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed.

About the Opportunity

WinnCompanies is searching for a Maintenance Technician II to join our team at West Village Apartments, a 135-unit affordable residential community located inBuffalo, NY.

In this role, you will perform apartment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs throughout the community, including rental units, residential common areas, offices, grounds, and parking lots. You will help maintain a safe, well-maintained community while providing excellent service to residents.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The position is typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with 30 minutes for lunch. This position requires biweekly rotational on-call duties for emergencies.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of residential, multifamily, building maintenance, or related experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent maintenance needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English and work effectively with diverse groups of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification.
