Job description

Our Team is Kind of a Big Deal!
UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech II to join our community! As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components. We offer a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime. We have an immediate opening and provide on-the-job training.

Compensation: $28 - $33/hr

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Troubleshoot equipment issues using observation and testing instruments.
  2. Assist with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and control systems.
  4. Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
  5. Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing, record results, and adjust chemicals as needed.
  6. Conduct safety checks on boilers and perform repairs.
  7. Inspect and maintain motors, belts, fluids, and filters.
  8. Perform basic welding repairs.
  9. Inspect, clean, and lubricate equipment parts.
  10. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience repairing industrial equipment; military experience considered.
  • Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Lockout/Tagout experience required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
