Job summary

The Department of Public Works in Maryland is hiring for Full Time, Permanent, Safety Sensitive Maintenance Worker II in the Waste Management Services Division. The role involves shoveling, cleaning facilities, maintaining buildings and grounds, and guiding customers in safe disposal and recycling according to policy.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining equipment such as loaders, backhoes, roll-off trucks, and light trucks; performing cart deliveries, repairs, and warehouse

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in Public Works Waste Management or related tasks.
• Experience operating loaders, roll-off trucks and/or light trucks.
• Demonstrated ability to perform heavy manual labor in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual tasks including shoveling and cleaning facilities.
• Direct customers in safe disposal and recycling following policy.
• Inspect contents of vehicles before/after loading.
• Operate equipment including backhoes, loaders, and roll-off trucks.
• Perform residential cart deliveries and repairs; warehouse duties as needed.
