Chester County Government is seeking a Maintenance Worker II responsible for skilled maintenance tasks in parks and facilities. The role includes repairs, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, and ensuring the safety and functionality of county properties. Candidates must have a high school diploma, trade experience, and the ability to work independently. This position may require work outside regular hours during emergencies.
The Maintenance Worker II is responsible for performing a variety of skilled routine maintenance and construction tasks within the county’s parks, trails, and facilities. This position primarily involves maintaining the department’s buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure facilities are functional, clean, safe, and presentable to the public. The employee is classified as an essential employee and may be required to work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, during emergencies or inclement weather.
This position requires completing documentation to grant the County of Chester permission to obtain a 3-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). A criminal background check is also required.
Additional background checks, physicals, drug tests, and assessments will be conducted post-offer.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and driving. Occasionally pushing up to 100 pounds, working with machinery, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
