A leading company in premium building products is seeking a Maintenance Technician II or III. The role involves ensuring operational efficiency of production lines through maintenance and troubleshooting complex systems. Candidates should possess at least 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and be skilled in electrical and mechanical systems. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, and that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. and can maneuver large, cumbersome product and equipment. Most roles require standing for a full shift with breaks.
The individual must have the ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures can vary depending on the weather. A successful candidate must confirm their ability to perform work-related physical tasks by completing a physical abilities test.
Core Responsibilities:
• Ensures production lines and other equipment are maintained and able to run at all times
• Assists in developing and prioritizing work orders with Maintenance Manager, Production Supervision and Line Leads.
• Completes work order requests as defined by Maintenance Manager, Productions Management/Supervision, and/or Operators.
• Supports workplace organization programs (6S) and production efficiency programs (TPM).
• Assists, coaches, and trains operators in daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks
• Supports and assists preventative maintenance process on the shift
• Contributes and assists in line commissioning after maintenance/process events
• Assists and participates with other plant projects as needed
• Operates in a manner that provides value to the team
• Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
Qualifications:
Qualifications – Maintenance Technician II
Experience & Technical Expertise:
5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance or a related field
Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing:
Electrical cabinets, relays, contactors, and solid-state relays/cards
PLC and HMI systems (troubleshooting and minor programming adjustments)
3-phase 480V motors, 24V DC control systems, and electrical tracing
Skilled in mechanical systems including:
Conveyors, rollers, bearings, and gearboxes
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including material transfer systems
Experienced with proximity sensors, photo-eyes, light curtains, and basic robotics
Strong fabrication skills: able to work in tight spaces and maintain high quality at a fast pace
Capable of tracking and lacing conveyor belts, clearing jams, and responding to line calls
Performs general maintenance tasks such as filter changes, cleanouts, and resolving material transfer issues
Safety & Compliance:
Arc Flash trained with a strong understanding of electrical safety protocols
Highly safety-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a hazard-free work environment
Experienced in the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
Tools & Equipment:
Proficient with hand and power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment
Certified or experienced in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
Soft Skills & Abilities:
Strong electrical aptitude preferred
Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Adaptable and quick-thinking; able to adjust on the fly and ask the right questions
Motivated to push personal and team growth
Strong communication skills; able to collaborate across departments
Self-directed, dependable, and capable of working independently or in a team
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
Electrical or Industrial Maintenance Certification
Structural welding certification
Forklift and aerial lift certification
