Job summary

Ross Stores distribution center seeks a skilled maintenance technician to assess and repair equipment, prioritizing preventive maintenance on conveyors, sortation, and forklifts. You will perform emergency repairs to keep operations running efficiently.

The role requires strong electrical/mechanical skills, blueprint literacy, and the ability to work overtime, weekends, and lift up to 50 lbs, all while maintaining a safe warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints or schematics.
• Must have knowledge of electrical motor control, strong electrical/mechanical skills; working with 30-480V.
• Experience with 5-8 years of progressive mechanical aptitude in distribution or manufacturing environments.
• Expertise in welding, soldering, and cutting torch skills.
• Cognizant of accountability for all company assets including spare parts, supplies, tools and equipment.
• Experience using hand tools, drills, grinders, saws, multimeter, tachometer, welder, solderer, cutting torch, hydraulic gear puller, electric forklifts, pallet jacks, platform lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Requires overtime and weekend work as necessary.
• Flexible to work any shift with limited supervision.
• Well organized to complete and perform work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical material handling equipment including conveyors, sortation systems, and forklifts.
• Perform emergency mechanical repairs to failed material handling systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical control systems including motors and PLC output; install/setup VFDs and servo motor controls.
• Perform maintenance projects on conveyors including installation, removal, and process changes.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Identify and locate required repair parts for failed systems.
• Maintain accurate records such as work orders, time sheets, and parts requests.
