Job summary

GreenWood, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance on production and facilities equipment.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize equipment performance while following safety policies and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong electrical and mechanical skills, PLC familiarity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Job Description
Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician II will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the Company policies, goals, and objectives.

Position Responsibilities - Essential
  • Demonstrates a safety-first mindset and approach in execution of all duties
  • Performs both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment from basic hydraulic and mechanical equipment to complex PLC-controlled machinery
  • Replaces and repairs parts, rebuilds equipment, aligns gears, shafts, pulleys and belts
  • Performs Preventive and Predictive maintenance on production equipment
  • Effectively troubleshoots failures and works in team environment to determine root causes of failure
  • Participates in plant shift meeting and continuous improvement activities
  • Sets molds in injection molding machines with assistance
  • Participates in a maintenance training program to improve knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Develops skills in mechanical, electrical and HVAC field
  • Utilizes CMMS system to manage work orders, create and review work history, and manage parts use
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
  • Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment or distribution center environment
  • Ability to work in seasonal temperatures that may be extreme at times including excessive heat or cold
  • Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions
  • Ability to be a proactive “self-starter”
  • Above average mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to operate powered lift equipment (Forklift, wave picker, hoists, etc.)
  • PLC test equipment experience including troubleshooting, repairs, PM’s and other world-class maintenance measures
  • Experienced, preferably by formal training, in principles and standards for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment operations
  • Strong mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations as applicable
  • Ability to complete a required pulmonary function test and a fit test to wear a respirator which requires the individual to be clean shaven with the exception of a mustache not extending beyond the edges of the mouth
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is preferred
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts
