The Columbia Presbyterian Community is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Maintenance Technician to join our team to create a warm hospitality experience for residents, staff, and visitors. You will work with a passionate team to provide quality service throughout our community.

What you will do:

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing, coordinating, and supervising various aspects of general and preventive maintenance to protect and maintain buildings, equipment, utility, and electrical systems.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot fire alarm and sprinkler systems and respond to emergency calls.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plumbing issues, including toilet plunging, snaking, and parts replacement.
  • Diagnose electrical and appliance problems and perform basic repairs such as resetting breakers, changing receptacles, and repairing lighting, fans, stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, disposals, etc.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of air conditioning systems, including filter changes and coil cleaning.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Move and assemble furniture.
  • Repair drywall and perform painting.
  • Set up landscape irrigation systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid South Carolina Driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience in commercial facilities, schools, retirement communities, or hotels across disciplines such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, masonry, and general maintenance. HVAC Universal certification is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
