McFarland Clinic in Ames is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (full-time) to join our Facilities Management team. You will perform building maintenance, repairs, installations, and remodeling as needed, with emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires DDC and HVAC knowledge, hands-on trade skills, and ability to read blueprints. A high school diploma or equivalent, plus a trade school certificate, and a valid driver's license are required, with on-call rotation and floating shifts.

Qualifikationen

Description

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting application for Maintenance Technician IIfor its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviews daily assignments to determine special needs and problems needing to be addressed.
• Performs building maintenance including repairs, installations, general remodeling, and improvements as needed or assigned.
• Repairs and moves desks, file cabinets, chairs and other furniture and fixtures.
• Participates in new construction/remodeling efforts. Reviews and comprehends blueprints and diagrams to ascertain layout, location and specification of electrical/mechanical items to be installed. Estimates quantities of materials needed.
• Performs all trade skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, as directed by supervisor or other members of Facilities Management.
• Inspects facilities and equipment to determine installation, maintenance, and repair needs. Maintains inventory of spare parts and maintenance equipment.
• Installs and repairs floor and wall coverings. Assists with wall board repair, patching, plastering, painting, or concrete work as needed.
• Keeps supervisor of Facilities Management informed of any unsafe conditions and takes immediate action to address the issue.
• Makes informed recommendations about new equipment.
• Acts as lead to General Maintenance Worker and Maintenance Technician I staff in supervisor’s absence.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Enhances professional growth and development through in service meetings and education programs.
• Required to report in early for snow removal.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET
• Trade or vocational school diploma with courses in blueprint reading, electricity.

Certificate/License

• Valid driver's license and authorization to drive company vehicles by McFarland Clinic Auto Insurance carrier, if job assignment requires driving a company vehicle.

Days: Floating shifts Monday-Friday. On call rotation including a Saturday every 6 to 7 weeks

Hours: Floating shift ranging from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

Experience

• Direct Digital Controls (DDC) knowledge of system operations required.
• Heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) maintenance of facilities operations required.
• Extensive computer working knowledge in operation of software programs required.
• Geothermal knowledge is preferred.
• Three years of previous experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and HVAC.
