Job summary

Associated Materials Innovations is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain facility equipment and production machinery. The role requires reading blueprints, using measuring tools, and performing electrical/mechanical maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.

You will troubleshoot drives and PLCs, work with minimal supervision, and contribute to safety, quality, and reliability in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must be able to use measuring instruments and perform basic failure analysis
  • Possess an understanding of electronic components to troubleshoot and repair
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • 5 years working as an industrial electrician/maintenance or working in an extrusion manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform self-directed reactive and planned maintenance across the facility; locate root causes, disassemble devices, replace parts, test performance, and ensure safe operation.
  • Perform simple welding tasks and order supplies as needed.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot machine failures; collaborate with planner/scheduler; wire and troubleshoot electrical panels to NFPA/NEC standards.
  • Maintain grounds and building exterior; perform electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs as required.
  • Assist lower-level technicians and lead small teams; participate in training and development.
  • Set up and operate machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder) to make/repair parts.
  • Troubleshoot 480V drives and PLC software; familiarity with Omron, ABB, Yaskawa components.
  • Repair and install AC/DC drives as needed.
