Job summary

The Post Oak is hiring a maintenance technician to repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment in a hotel/casino setting. You will contribute to providing professional guest service aligned with KE E P values and company standards.

The role requires expertise in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades, with 5 years of hotel/casino maintenance experience preferred. A Nevada driver’s license is required and eligibility for CPO/EPA certifications is noted as preferred.

Qualifications

• Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, furniture repair and refinishing techniques.
• Strong ability to operate and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
• Experience in hotel or casino maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, furniture repair and refinishing.
• Specialize in one or more areas such as painter, kitchen equipment, locksmith, carpenter, upholsterer, tile setting, plumber, electrician, HVAC, pipefitter or welder.
• Repair and maintain mechanical devices, motors and pumps; document work orders.
• Respond to emergency situations as part of the response team.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment at all times.

Overview

This position is responsible for repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform maintenance in the following areas but not limited to: Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, furniture repair and refinishing.
• Must specialize in one or more of the following areas: Painter, kitchen equipment, locksmith, carpenter, upholsterer, carpet layer, tile setting, plumber, electrician, HVAC, pipefitter or welder.
• Fabricates, repairs and maintains mechanical devices, motors and pumps.
• Initiates and responds to the work order system, documentation work performed as necessary.
• Serves as an emergency response team member during critical crisis.
• Performs work in a safe manner and always maintains a safe environment to fellow employees and guests.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.

• Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise, crowds, smoke, and vibration. Incumbents are at times subjected to hazards such as the dangers associated with the use of basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
• This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
• Required to work in elevated places inside and outside of the building such as lampposts and parking structures and enclosed areas such as boilers, HVAC duct areas and attic spaces. At times, subjected to hazards such as the dangers associated with the use of basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
• Occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all times, with customers as well as all levels of employees.
• Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates and inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
• Able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
• Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to basic hand and power tools and testing equipment.
• Requires being mobile 90% of the shift.
• Requires frequent bending, stooping, and reaching from floor level up to 7 feet, climbing up-stairs, and ladders, lifting, transporting, pushing, pulling and maneuvering large loads up to 300 lbs. use of hand tool and power tools; communication by telephone, beeper, and radios. Requires normal sense of smell, touch, and sound.
• Requires the eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires normal vision range.
• Requires the ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
• CPO and EPA certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of refrigeration, boilers, and HVAC.
• Operating knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
• Minimum age requirement is 21.

Education and/or Experience

Education level, High School Diploma of equivalent.

Experience 5 years in Hotel and Casino maintenance preferred.

Valid Nevada Driver's License and clean driving record.

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills.

Language Skills

Must be able to speak and understand English.

Physical Demands

• Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
• Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
• Frequently stooping, reaching.

Work Environment

• Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
• Work with others in close spaces.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.

This position does not earn tips.
