Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a level II Maintenance Technician for a 3rd shift (Mon-Fri 10:00pm–6:15am with overtime on weekends) in Rocky Mount, NC. The role requires 3+ years in industrial maintenance, electromechanical skills, hydraulics, welding, and reading blueprints. Training on 1st shift for 8–12 weeks is required.

OSHA safety compliance and forklift training are included. The technician will perform preventive and unscheduled repairs, service production equipment, and assist on mold

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Trade School or Associates Degree in maintenance or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a continuous manufacturing environment required
  • Experience with electromechanical, hydraulics and/or welding systems required
  • Ability to read blueprints; interpret diagrams and manuals; use hand and power tools
  • Willingness to learn PLC and complete Hubbell forklift training
  • OSHA safety guidelines compliance a must

Responsibilities

  • Provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment during machine service or outages
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance including drives, motors, belts, fluid checks and filter changes
  • Repair machines and equipment using hand tools, power tools and electrical testing devices
  • Diagnose problems, replace parts, and test adjustments to restore functionality
  • Dismantle devices to access defective parts using hoists, cranes and tooling
  • Read manuals, work orders, diagrams and blueprints to perform maintenance
  • Collaborate with engineering and Mold Shop on special projects and mold setup when required
  • Adhere to safety practices at all times and support teamwork on larger tasks

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

We are looking for a minimum level II Maintenance Technicianthat has experience with industrial maintenance in a production environment.

This position will be a 3rd Shift position with a work schedule of Monday to Friday 10:00pm to 6:15am and overtime as needed on weekends. On-call as needed.

***Training will be REQUIRED on 1st shift for an average of 8-12 weeks***

  • Providing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service, and emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Performing routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments, electrical or electronic testing devices.
  • Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment.
  • Diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, and testing and adjusting.
  • Dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals, work orders, diagrams and blueprints to perform the required maintenance service.
  • Working with the engineering department and Mold Shop on special projects as needed.
  • Assist with mold set-up when required.
  • Practicing and promoting safety at all times.
  • Working with fellow maintenance employees to assist on larger task, repairs and/or projects.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Trade School or Associates Degree in maintenance or related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electromechanical, hydraulics and/or welding systems (required)
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a continuous operating manufacturing environment(required)
  • Experience in or ability to and willingness to learn PLC
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints; ability to use all hand and power tools used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to diagnose problems and determine replacement or repair of parts; make material, labor, and equipment estimates based on blueprint study; follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and minimal technical guidance
  • Previous forklift Experience and ability to complete Hubbell Forklift training
  • Compliance with OSHA Health and Safety guidelines
  • Ability to work at heights up to approximately 50 feet.
