Qualifications

  • More than 5 years experience in general building maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as electrician in repairing basic electrical malfunctions of a minor nature and installing new equipment.
  • May work as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems; and in opening clogged drains.
  • Acts as a carpenter in the alternation, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.
  • May operate hand saw, planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, wood lathe, drill press, sanding machine, router, and electric drill.
  • Will maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use all tools carefully and as instructed.
  • May perform minor repairs to air conditioning system as directed and see to general maintenance of system.
  • Provides follow-up on all quality control issues.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician II - 3rd Shift

Work Location: Chantilly VA 20151

Duration: 3 months

Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM - on-call for 24/7 coverage in the building

Job Description

Position ensures that the facilities are kept in good repair and working order.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as electrician in repairing basic electrical malfunctions of a minor nature and installing new equipment.

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Good general physical condition
  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and work for long periods of time.
  • Frequent walking and/or standing.
Knowledge
  • General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and air conditioning equipment and codes.
Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following instructions of a supervisor.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions
  • Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing.

Additional Job Details: Need critical site experience with specialized skills in boilers, chillers, HVAC, Refrigeration, electrical, etc. as outlined in the job descriptions.
