Qualifications

• Requires reading and understanding mechanical and electrical schematics in English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance per PM schedules.
• Experience with safety policies, LOTO, and GMP concepts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate maintenance tools safely and efficiently (power tools, basic electrical testing).
• Perform preventive maintenance orders from daily to semi-annual schedules per safety policies.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance tasks.
• Review mechanical and electrical schematics and troubleshoot with supervision as needed.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, test, and adjust as required.
• Document issues, repairs, and actions for PM records and reports.
• Maintain clean work area and follow GMP and safety guidelines; assist with weekend/night coverage.

Summary

The Maintenance Technician performs highly diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of machines, equipment and plant facilities. This includes scheduled, unscheduled or emergency repairs. The Maintenance Technician also performs regular preventive maintenance which includes maintaining supporting documentation for the PM’s.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Effectively and safely operates standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance work orders ranging from daily needs up to semi-annual PM schedules. Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics in English.
• Complete minor troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical related issues without direct supervision. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts; test and make-adjustments.
• Detect, document, repair and/or replace improper machine operation, defective material, and faulty equipment. Report unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other departmental policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques.
• Understand and certify in our LOTO program.
• Follow and perform emergency procedures regarding power failures.
• Diversify maintenance skills that will allow assignments to be given, in any work area and on any shift, as required.
• Effectively inform through written communication daily pass-downs issues and actions.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office, order and schedule parts as well as jobs.
• Perform work in a safe manner and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies & Knowledge

• Standard practices in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components.
• Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of PLC’s and conveyor systems.

Skill In

• Understanding of 3 Phase electrical, three phase motor controls, troubleshooting AC and DC drives.

• Take direction from Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.

• Maintain harmonious working relations with employees from all departments and with management from all levels.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
• Able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office Suite and PM system tracking. SAP experience preferred.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily done on a manufacturing production floor.
• Frequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and fluctuations in temperatures.
• Depending on which location, our environments can be very warm or refrigerated. This is a refrigerated/frozen facility with average temperatures in the 32 to 40 degree range.
• Team environment - must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed.

Starting Pay

Level I $31.85/hr., Level II $34.95/hr., We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
