Job description

Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will make adjustments to machines and equipment for proper operation. This is a 2nd shift position working Monday to Thursday from 2:30 pm to 1 am. The starting hourly rate ranges from $25.08 to $30.01, depending on experience.

The Maintenance Technician performs complex mechanical duties and various electrical trade functions, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and distribution of electrical energy. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and replacing electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.

Major Functions and Scope:
  1. Troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) using handheld devices or laptops.
  2. Design and redesign programs and software for PLCs, operator panels, etc.
  3. Format hard drives and install computer applications.
  4. Install, maintain, or repair equipment related to electrical energy generation, distribution, or utilization.
  5. Locate and diagnose electrical system or equipment issues using blueprints, drawings, layouts, or specifications.
  6. Perform standard computations related to wiring load requirements and electrical equipment.
  7. Possess basic knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and process control instrumentation devices such as thermocouples and pressure switches.
  8. Have basic knowledge of servomotors and drive units.
  9. Continuously review areas for productivity improvements and cost reductions, and professionally communicate solutions.
  10. Plan and execute process improvements.
  11. Use various electrician’s tools, including measuring and testing instruments.
  12. Inform supervisors about operational status and any issues with equipment.
  13. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  14. Perform other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of electrical codes. Formal PLC training preferred.
  2. Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
  3. At least 3 years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
  4. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Competencies:

Ability to work at heights requiring fall protection.

Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and sometimes sit, climb, or balance. May lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, temperature variations, and loud noise levels.
