Job summary

Cargill is hiring a Maintenance Technician II in Columbus, Nebraska. This full-time role supports safe and reliable plant operations by maintaining and repairing production equipment and facility assets.

• One year of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience or educational equivalent or certification in maintenance, mechanics, or related trade.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety, food safety, and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production and facility equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic precision tools to complete maintenance tasks.
• Read and follow work instructions, schematics, manuals, and safety procedures.
• Document completed work and equipment conditions using a computerized maintenance system.
• Perform duties in a fast paced production setting with PPE, with physical tasks such as standing, climbing, bending, and twisting.
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested.
• Support food safety, housekeeping, and safety standards across the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

(5:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Compensation: $27.03/hr – $33.03/hr

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician II supports safe and reliable plant operations by maintaining and repairing production equipment and facility assets. In this role, you will perform routine preventative maintenance and help troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues with limited direction. This is a great opportunity to utilize your maintenance skills while contributing to food safety, equipment reliability, and team success.

What You Will Do

• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production and facility equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic precision tools to complete maintenance tasks.

• Perform job duties in a fast paced, cold, or warm production setting with required PPE while engaging in physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time, climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Support food safety, housekeeping, and safety standards across the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

What Will Put You Ahead
