Job summary

Novolex is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for the Night shift to ensure proper operation of packaging machinery. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and execute repairs across extruders, dies, air rings, cooling systems and winders, while coordinating with operators and vendors.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance, strong electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic knowledge, and a focus on safety and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical schooling and/or certifications in electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, PLCs and pneumatics preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance technician experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and inspections to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement repairs.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand/power tools and precision instruments.
• Perform routine maintenance on blown film machinery such as extruders, dies, air rings, cooling systems, winders.

Job Description

Compensation: $37.00- $42.00 an hour - paid weekly

Maintenance Tech II Shift Available: Nights:7:50pm-8:00am (2-2-3)

Job Overview:

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery and equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and repairs.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting preventive maintenance tasks, inspections, and equipment servicing to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime


• Troubleshooting and diagnosing all types of equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes, and implementing effective repair solutions


• Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments


• Performing routine maintenance on blown film machinery, including extruders, dies, air rings, cooling systems, winders, and associated equipment.


• Collaborating with lead operators and production teams to identify and address equipment issues or performance concerns


• Coordinating with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs, installations, or equipment upgrades


• Maintaining accurate maintenance records, including work orders, repair logs, and inventory management


• Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.


• Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and disposal of materials.


• Keeping abreast of advancements in maintenance technology and equipment, recommending improvements or upgrades as needed


• Other essential duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Technical schooling and/or certifications in electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, programmable logic controllers and pneumatics are preferred


• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing facility or related field


• Strong technical knowledge of machinery, preferably including extruders, dies, air rings, cooling systems, winders, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, and associated equipment.


• Strong knowledge and ability to interpret prints, schematics, and assembly drawingsHigh proficiency in troubleshooting all types of electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic equipment malfunctions, diagnosing issues, and implementing effective repair solutions


• Strong knowledge and experience with preventive maintenance strategies, equipment servicing, and repair techniques


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure


• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet maintenance schedule


• Strong knowledge and experience with safety regulations and best practices in an industrialmanufacturing setting


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively withcross-functional teams and external stakeholders


• Excellent computer literacy for maintenance tracking and reporting
