Job summary

Soboba Casino is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform general maintenance and repair across the Soboba Casino Resort Property in San Jacinto, CA. The role supports safe, ready-to-use facilities and utilities with advanced troubleshooting and CMMS documentation.

The candidate will participate in routine inspections, coordinate with vendors and team members, and help plan preventive maintenance programs in alignment with company goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent, required.
• Minimum 3–4+ years of relevant experience.
• 1–3 years of previous trade experience considered a plus.
• Education in building maintenance or prior experience in a large commercial facility preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks to keep facilities guest-ready and safe.
• Interface with customers, vendors, and team members professionally.
• Conduct routine inspections to determine repair and maintenance needs.
• Move furniture, containers and other items as assigned.
• Provide guidance and train staff on maintenance elements.
• Assist in planning and scheduling preventive maintenance and projects.
• Adhere to Soboba Casino Resort’s policies and safety procedures.
• Perform general maintenance across various trades (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
• Monitor building systems and complete related records in CMMS.

Summary

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for general maintenance and repair of facility areas, cleaning and safety of all guest and employee areas as well as parking lot, grounds and adjacent lots to include any off-property site used by the company. This position supports operations in ensuring use-ready and compliant facilities and utilities, including advanced troubleshooting, completion of preventive maintenance, and the completion of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) related documentation. The Maintenance Technician II provides feedback and recommendations to management on relevant topics including the planning of maintenance work, project management tasks, and the investigation and resolution of unusual situations.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform, as part of a team, a wide variety of tasks to maintain facility in a best in class for guest experience.
• Interface with customers, vendors, and team members in support of facility initiatives, work request completion, or other duties as assigned in a professional and team-oriented manner.
• Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
• Utilize positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests, (internal and external), at all times.
• Move furniture, trash containers and various work assignments as assigned.
• Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices. Provides guidance and coordination to team members and trains staff on elements of the facilities maintenance trades.
• Assists management in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance work and recommends approaches to preventative maintenance programs.
• Embodies Soboba Casino Resort’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals.
• Responsible for routine general maintenance and repair throughout the Soboba Casino Resort Property. These responsibilities can include painting, drywall installation and repair, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, groundwork, irrigation systems, flooring, concrete, lighting and basic electricity, as directed with established procedures and policies.
• Performs daily rounds and checks of various equipment and systems as assigned, including related record keeping.
• Operates a variety of portable power tools and hand tools.
• Ensure that all OSHA safety regulations and Soboba policies are being adhered to.
• Operates industrial facilities equipment including, but not limited to forklifts, scissor lifts, JLGs, etc.
• Completes assigned work-orders and PM’s in a timely manner.
• Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and related computer controls.
• Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.

Education / Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age, or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent, required.
• Minimum three (3) to four (4) plus years of relevant experience required.
• One (1) to three (3) years of previous experience working in a trade, considered a plus but not required.
• Education in building maintenance or prior experience in a large commercial facility, preferred.
• Any combination of education beyond the minimum requirement as well as any experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary will be considered.

• Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.

Certificates, licenses and registration

• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record required (no major violations in past 3 years; fewer than 3 minor violations in past year preferred). See Vehicle Policy for breakdown.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
• Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
