Job summary

Indiana Furniture is seeking a Maintenance Team Lead to diagnose downtime, repair CNC equipment, and lead breakdown responses in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will mentor Level 1 technicians and coordinate with supervision and production teams to minimize outages and improve equipment reliability.

The role covers mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and controls systems, with responsibilities including building complex electrical panels and leading major rebuilds or machine installs

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical systems knowledge including precision alignment (laser or dial indicator methods), gears, ball screws, linear rails.
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting for 3-phase motors, VFDs and control circuits (relays, contactors, overloads).
• PLC familiarity: read inputs/outputs, ladder logic, sensor fault troubleshooting.
• Reads electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical assembly prints.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose machine downtime and lead breakdown response.
• Repair CNC equipment, automated systems, robotics cells, hot presses, etc.
• Troubleshoot servo drives, encoders, limit switches, safety circuits.
• Rebuild mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
• Lead breakdown response efforts and mentor Level 1 technicians.
• Recommend improvements to reduce recurring failures.
• Communicate with supervision and production teams.
• Building complex electrical panels and works across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and controls systems.
• Works independently with minimal oversight; may lead projects, machine installs, and major rebuilds.
• Identifies root cause, not just failed part.

Organizational Relationship

The Maintenance Team Lead will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Accountabilities

• Diagnose machine downtime independently
• Repair CNC equipment, automated systems, robotics cells, hot presses, etc.
• Troubleshoot servo drives, encoders, limit switches, safety circuits
• Rebuild mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
• Lead breakdown response efforts
• Mentor Level 1 technicians
• Recommend improvements to reduce recurring failures
• Communication with supervision and production teams
• Building complex electrical panels
• Works independently with minimal oversight
• May lead projects, machine installs, and major rebuilds

Requirements

Education & Experience

• 3–7+ years industrial machine repair experience

• Able to lift, push, pull, bend, stoop, use a ladder, and stand for an entire shift
