Job summary

Signode is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to keep production safe and efficient, servicing and repairing complex equipment. The role focuses on reliability and adherence to safety programs across shifts. Location is in the U.S.

manufacturing context with a strong emphasis on quality and compliance. The candidate will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, read schematics and manuals, and complete maintenance work orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED with mechanical apprenticeship or tech cert.
• Five (5) years of mechanical hands-on maintenance experience.
• Ability to read schematics, gauges, tools and instruments.
• Experience with welding (MIG and/or arc) and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance, repairs and safe operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment to restore production.
• Read and interpret procedures, blueprints, manuals and work orders.
• Inspect equipment during preventative maintenance and report findings.
• Perform electrical issue corrections using drives and PLCs knowledge.
• Ensure productivity and quality after repairs and changeovers.
• Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
• Respond quickly to safety concerns and rectify dangers.
• Communicate issues with group leaders and maintenance manager.

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $35.00 - $38.00 hourly and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Shift:

7pm to 7am, Monday - Thursday 12hr days one week, then Monday - Wednesday 12hr days the next week.

Summary

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician II is to ensure production and operations are running safely at the most efficient level achievable, producing the highest possible production quality. Servicing and repairing complex equipment. Complieswith applicable regulations and the department’s Safety program.

Essential Functions

• Performstroubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic mechanical systems.
• Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairsequipment.
• Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to management.
• Performs corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
• Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
• Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
• Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
• Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum High School diploma or GED and mechanical apprenticeship and/or vocational school/technology certificate in mechanic.

Experience:

• Five (5) years of mechanical technical hands-on experience.
• Ability to read and use schematics, gauges, tools and instruments.
• Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.
• Must have sound knowledge and experience in Industrial Maintenance environment with repair and troubleshooting machine issues and breakdowns along with general maintenance.
• Must have experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
• Must have a good working knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, pumps, valves, cylinders, conveyors, etc.
• Forklifts and scissor lift driving experience is preferred.
