Job summary

Signode Industrial Group in Florence, KY, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to maintain, troubleshoot and service electrical systems in our production facility. You will support all plant equipment and ensure safety compliance per OSHA and NEC standards.

The role requires 5 years of hands-on electrical work, PLC experience, and the ability to read wiring diagrams. We offer day shift, competitive hourly pay starting at $38.90 and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5 years of electrical hands-on experience including wiring automation panels and PLCs.
• Adherence to the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code.
• Ability to read gauges and use diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
• Plan work procedures and determine replacement needs or upgrades and develop a logical approach to correct the problem.
• Collaborate with other trades and vendors on maintenance tasks and cross-discipline troubleshooting.
• Maintain equipment logs and calibrate/testing instruments as prescribed.

Job Description

Shift: 1st Shift

• 8:00am-4:30pm M-F, on call may be required.

The hourly wage for this position starts ranges from $38.90 - $50.20 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Summary

Under general supervision, this position maintains, troubleshoots and services electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and controls and supports all production and physical plant equipment in the facility. Complies with applicable regulations and the company’s safety program.

Essential Functions

• Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
• Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
• Plan work procedures and determine replacement needs or upgrade requirements and develops a logical approach to correct the problem.
• Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems.
• Collaborate with other trades and vendors on coordinated maintenance tasks or cross-discipline troubleshooting.
• Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
• Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
• Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems whether electrical or mechanical.
• Operates equipment in accordance with site requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
• Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
• Calibrate testing instruments and/or equipment to prescribed specifications.
• Outline new preventative maintenance tasks as recommended by the manufacturer and or the facility’s historical data.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma, electrical apprenticeship and/or vocational school/technology certificate in electricity.

Experience:

• Minium offive (5) years of electrical technical hands-on experience including wiring automation machine control panels and PLCs.
• Adherence to apply standards per the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code.
• Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.
• Ability to read, use and understand gauges, tools and instruments relating to equipment repair.
• Scissor lift driving experience is preferred but not necessary.
