Related Affordable is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to keep our buildings safe, functional, and inviting for residents. You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with management on safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, reliability, and pride in maintaining property facilities. A background check is required, and bilingual Spanish is a plus for serving diverse residents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or related field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Affordable housing experience is a plus.
• Must participate in emergency on‑call rotation as needed.
• Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure needs are met.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames.
• Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, addressing safety issues with management.
• Conduct advanced routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Maintain common areas and grounds; train and mentor junior staff as needed.
• Assist in emergency repairs and rotate on‑call for emergencies.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and report shortages.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

• Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames.
• Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, addressing safety issues immediately with management.
• Conduct advanced routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds.
• Train and mentor junior maintenance staff as needed.
• Inspect property and address maintenance concerns proactively.
• Assist in emergency repairs as directed by supervisors and rotate on‑call for emergency maintenance.
• Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and report any shortages.
• Other duties as assigned

Anticipated Salary Range

• $24.48 -$28.84 /hr.
• Annual Performance Bonus
• This position is Non-Exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the requirements of the position.
