Job summary

Drury Plaza Hotel in Columbus, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to maintain and repair hotel facilities, systems, and equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, required repairs, and safety-related tasks to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for guests and team members.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, the ability to troubleshoot and repair a range of systems, and willingness to support emergency repairs.

Qualifications

• Advanced maintenance knowledge across hotel systems.
• Ability to dismantle equipment to repair or replace defective components.
• Knowledge of water chemistry, testing, filtration, and mechanical pool operations.
• Experience implementing preventative maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing and able to follow directions.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery faults and perform emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and smooth-running hotel property and grounds.
• Perform light repairs on plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and HVAC.
• Carry out light carpentry, painting, vinyl and drywall repairs.
• Develop and monitor programs to ensure a safe facility and compliant operations.
• Keep detailed records and reports of maintenance activities.
• Provide ongoing training to Maintenance Tech I team members.
• Collaborate with management to recruit for department needs.
• Contribute to guest satisfaction through courteous, responsive service.

What we will do

• Maintain safe and smooth-running physical hotel property and grounds.


• Complete repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of systems such as plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment and HVAC.


• Perform light carpentry, painting, vinyl and drywall repair.


• Implement and monitor programs to ensure a safe facility and work environment in compliance with all appropriate regulations: ergonomic, emergency response and injury prevention.


• Keep detailed records and reports.

What we expect of you

• Advanced maintenance knowledge and skills, with ability to handle all aspects of hotel maintenance


• Ability to complete partial or full dismantling of equipment to repair or replace defective components and restore functionality


• Knowledge of water chemistry, water testing, filtration, and mechanical operations for pool maintenance


• Experience in implementing and monitoring preventative maintenance programs to ensure a safe and well-maintained hotel


• Knowledge of building maintenance, including minor electrical repair and plumbing


• Ability to speak, write and receive direction (written and verbal direction) in English


• Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery faults using appropriate testing methods


• Flexibility to be available for emergency repair
