Job summary

Carrier is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician in Charlotte, NC to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, read blueprints, and maintain accurate records while supporting rapid production needs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant experience. You will collaborate with contractors and ensure safety, quality, and uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years maintenance experience in industrial or facility environments.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and manuals.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds.

Role Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures
  • Lead small maintenance projects or guide junior techs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in industrial, commercial, or facility environments
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time along with routine lifting of items that typically weigh up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, and squat.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Trade license (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing – depending on jurisdiction)
  • Completion of technical school or apprenticeship
  • Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Understanding of PLC basics and motor controls
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial work platform certification
  • Lockout/Tagout trained
  • Physically capable of working in a fast-pace, stop-and-go manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Alert, dependable, and safety-focused.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing material handling or similar industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of parts and materials required for production operations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to make quick decisions in support of a process-oriented operation.

Pay Range

$24 - $48 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
