Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Facilities Technician to operate and maintain utilities and building systems at a Carrier manufacturing facility. You will support installation and readiness across shifts, ensuring reliability and compliance with safety standards.

Required are 2+ years in facilities maintenance and a trade/associates degree. Experience with electrical, HVAC, and energy monitoring tools is preferred. This role involves rotating shifts and contractor coordination.

Qualifications

  • Trade School/Technical School/Associates Degree is required.
  • 2+ years of facilities or building-systems maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance of facilities and utilities (electrical distribution, water systems, facility infrastructure, HVAC, compressed air).
  • Diagnoses and repairs faults in facilities systems.
  • Supports the installation and operational readiness of site utilities.
  • Records interventions and utility consumption.
  • Complies with all safety standards (OSHA, LOTO) on interventions.
  • Coordinates with contractors when required.
  • Owns the utility reliability, uptime monitoring and energy consumption tracking
  • Supports facility expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades, and utility system implementation.

About This Role

The Facilities Technician operates and maintains the utilities and building systems at a Carrier manufacturing facility, ensuring their availability and performance. This role supports installation and operational readiness activities across shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs maintenance of facilities and utilities (electrical distribution, water systems, facility infrastructure, HVAC, compressed air).
  • Diagnoses and repairs faults in facilities systems.
  • Supports the installation and operational readiness of site utilities.
  • Records interventions and utility consumption.
  • Complies with all safety standards (OSHA, LOTO) on interventions.
  • Coordinates with contractors when required.
  • Owns the utility reliability, uptime monitoring and energy consumption tracking
  • Support facility expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades, and utility system implementation.
  • Strengthen expectations around contractor coordination, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
  • Trade School/Technical School/Associates Degree
  • 2+ years of facilities or building-systems maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electromechanical.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and facility monitoring tools.
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, compressed air and general utilities.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults in facilities systems and read equipment drawings.
  • Strong safety orientation (OSHA, LOTO) and availability to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods) per role requirements.
  • Experience with facility system testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools.

Pay Range

The hourly rate for this position is between $24 - $48 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
