Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician I will be responsible for repairing and maintaining rental units and facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents. The role involves working with maintenance staff, refurbishing units, maintaining common areas, managing inventory, documenting work, and participating in training and cross-training activities. The position requires travel between sites within the Northern Region, including Camden and Gloucester, and adherence to a faith-based organizational culture.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with maintenance team to repair and maintain rental units and facilities.
  2. Clean and refurbish vacant units for new or transferring residents.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all common areas and office spaces.
  4. Manage organized inventory systems for maintenance supplies.
  5. Document completed work using work order management software.
  6. Record replacement of capital items and work performed on facilities.
  7. Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including snow and ice removal.
  8. Participate in a rotation schedule among multiple sites within the region.
  9. Travel to various diocesan sites and attend required training sessions.
  10. Maintain a positive, faith-aligned work environment and foster good relationships with colleagues and residents.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to document work using mobile and computer systems.
  • Basic skills in carpentry and plumbing.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle for travel between sites.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of chemicals used in cleaning products and safety precautions.
  • Experience or training in home maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
Physical Demands

This role requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling regularly.
