Qualifications

  • At least 6 months’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and maintenance literature.

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech I to join our community. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components. We offer a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime. We have an immediate opening and provide on-the-job training.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
  • Ensure safe operation of machinery, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using testing instruments.
  • Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing, record results, and adjust chemicals as needed.
  • Conduct safety checks on boilers and perform repairs.
  • Monitor utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
  • Perform safety checks on locations and systems, addressing concerns.
  • Inspect and maintain motor, belts, fluid levels, filters, and other parts.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of maintenance equipment.
  • At least 6 months’ experience repairing industrial processing equipment; military experience considered.
  • Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and maintenance literature in English.
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Lockout/Tagout experience required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
