Job summary

Summit School Services LLC is seeking a Fleet Technician I to support our school bus fleet in Odenton, MD. You will diagnose, inspect, and repair diesel and gas systems to keep routes safe and on time, working with senior techs and supervisors.

The role requires at least five years of medium/heavy truck repair experience, diagnostic tool proficiency, and a High school diploma. CDL is preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and training opportunities to advance in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and A/C issues.
• High school diploma or equivalent education and/or training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrains, electrical, cooling, and fuel systems.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and tests to verify repairs.
• Complete required safety inspections and repair sign-offs before releasing vehicles.
• Maintain safe, organized work area following Federal, State, and local standards.
• Log labor hours and parts used in the maintenance system.
• Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse immediately.
• Respond to road calls and perform mobile repairs when needed.
• Model professionalism, teamwork, and integrity in every task.
