Schedule: Full-time; Tuesday - Saturday; 8am - 5pm

Maintenance Technician Purpose:

The Maintenance Technician I assists the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Team in maintaining the physical integrity of the community, ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The technician will carry out assigned duties safely and perform other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor. In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, the technician will assume all maintenance responsibilities.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and performs routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment and tools as directed by Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager.
  • Diagnoses and performs minor or routine maintenance and repairs within homes and throughout the property.
  • Inspects and helps coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services.
  • Assists in keeping grounds neat and free of litter.
  • Performs any additional duties assigned by Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment and happy resident base.

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance experience in property management is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in unit turns and appliance repair is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative on tasks and projects.
  • Willing to work weekends and scheduled days.
  • Must have valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage.
  • Must supply own tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk or sit depending on daily needs; approximately 66%-100% of the time on feet.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder level.
  • Ability to lift/move/push/pull up to 150 lbs occasionally, with frequent need to lift/push/pull 25-75 lbs, and be on your feet most of the day.
