Maintenance Technician I - Part Time - Onalaska

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and essential systems, creating an environment that promotes security, functionality, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re troubleshooting HVAC systems, maintaining safety equipment, or enhancing campus aesthetics, your work will directly impact the well-being of our residents and the overall experience at Vivie.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain Buildings & Grounds – Perform general building maintenance, repairs, floor care, landscaping, snow removal, and remodeling to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Manage HVAC & Mechanical Systems – Inspect, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to optimize safety and comfort for residents and staff.
  • Maintain Plumbing & Water Systems – Inspect and repair hot water heaters, softeners, plumbing equipment, and pool systems, including monitoring pool chemistry when scheduled.
  • Ensure Life Safety & Emergency Preparedness – Maintain and troubleshoot fire safety systems, generators, sprinkler systems, and alarm panels, ensuring compliance with Life Safety Code procedures.
  • Other Duties as Assigned – The duties listed above are representative of the work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minnesota Boiler Operator’s License.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment efficiently.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • On Call requirement on a rotating basis.
  • Physical capability to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to pass a state-mandated background check.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
