Job summary

Cox Automotive in USA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I focused on parking lot striping and site upkeep. The role involves maintaining buildings, equipment, and landscaping, plus basic HVAC, plumbing, carpentry repairs, and safety compliance.

Day shift, no remote option, and potential overtime. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and a valid driver's license. This is an entry-level, individual contributor position within Cox Automotive facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years' related experience.
• Skill in light electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC repairs.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear; regular lifting 1–50 lbs.
• Walk behind/ride-on striping knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings, property, equipment, and site landscaping.
• Perform minor repairs on HVAC systems and general maintenance.
• Carry out carpentry work for building repairs and offices.
• Replace worn parts like hoses, wiring, and belts in machines.
• Operate snow removal equipment for parking lots and sidewalks.
• Ensure equipment and buildings meet safety standards.
• Keep buildings clean and dispose of trash properly.
• Maintain tools and safety compliance; support safety programs.
• Assist with moving furniture, unloading, and storage as needed.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Hourly base pay rate is $18.17 - $27.31/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Focused On - Parking Lot Striping

Job Description:

• Maintain all buildings, property, equipment, and landscaping for the site.

• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance on heating and air conditioning system.

• Perform routine carpentry work in the repair and maintenance of buildings, offices, etc.

• Replace worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment.

• Operate snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.

• Maintain all buildings, property, and equipment for the site.

• Ensure all equipment is working correctly and under standards for recon department.

• Ensure all buildings are kept clean.

• Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and comply with applicable safety rules.

• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.

• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., moving furniture, unloading, and storing supplies, etc.

• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate

Qualifications:

Minimum

• High School Diploma/GED

• Generally, less than 2 years' experience in a related field

• Skill and knowledge to perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC repairs required.

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.

• Good communication and organizational skills required.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.

• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.

• Medium strength. Ability to lift 1-50 pounds.

• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred

• Familiar with Walk behind and ride lot striping machine.
