Job summary

Maker's Pride in Geneva, IL is seeking a Maintenance Tech to cover mechanical, electrical, PLC troubleshooting, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs across our plant facilities. This role includes scheduled, unscheduled and emergency repairs with emphasis on preventive maintenance and accurate documentation.

You will read manuals, interpret work orders, diagnose issues, replace parts, and ensure GMP practices. Shift options include mornings, afternoons and nights; pay starts at $28.30–$34.00/hr

Qualifications

• Completed or currently pursuing a two-year trades degree and/or four years of plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age and able to read, write and speak English.
• Able to communicate with maintenance leadership and plant staff.
• Able to follow GMP and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance per skill level and safety policies.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust.
• Detect faulty operations and report to maintenance manager.
• Use MS Office to order parts and schedule jobs.

This includes scheduled, unscheduled or emergency repairs. Perform regular preventive maintenance which also includes maintaining supporting documentation for the PM’s.

Sign-on Bonus Incentive

We are providing a $1,000 or $3,000 sign on bonus for every new hire starting as a Maintenance Tech I or II at the Geneva, IL facility. The payout is broken down as below:

• 50% at start of employment.
• 50% after 90 days of employment.

Shift Hours

• 1st Shift - 5:30am - 2pm
• 2nd Shift: 1:30pm - 10pm
• 3rd shift: 9:30pm - 6am

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make-adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office, order and schedule parts as well as jobs.
• Perform work in a safe manner and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Able to communicate and take direction from Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Attention to detail.
• Legible record-keeping and data entry skills.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and have creative problem-solving abilities.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Welding and fabrication, full understanding of 3 Phase electrical, three phase motor controls. Troubleshoot AC & DC drives and troubleshooting PLC's.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment - exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.
• Depending on which location, our environments can be very warm or refrigerated.
• Team environment - must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed.

Starting Pay: Maintenance Technician Level I $28.30, Maintenance Technician Level II $34.00/hr., a shift differential is offered for 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.

• This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance.
• We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
