Job summary

Vivie in Minnesota is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep its buildings, grounds, and essential systems in optimal condition. You will help ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff, maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems, with a focus on reliability and efficiency.

This full-time, hourly role includes an 8am-4:30pm schedule, on-call rotation, and requires a Minnesota Boiler Operator's License.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minnesota Boiler Operator's License or equivalent boiler license is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds with general repairs, floor care, landscaping, snow removal and remodeling.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and pool systems to ensure safety and comfort.
• Maintain life safety systems, fire safety equipment, generators, sprinklers, and alarm panels per Life Safety Code.
• On-call rotation and non-supervisory responsibilities as assigned.

As a Maintenance Technician, You Will

• Maintain Buildings & Grounds - Perform general building maintenance, repairs, floor care, landscaping, snow removal, and remodeling to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Manage HVAC & Mechanical System - Inspect, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to optimize safety and comfort for residents and staff.
• Maintain Plumbing & Water Systems - Inspect and repair hot water heaters, softeners, plumbing equipment, and pool systems, including monitoring pool chemistry when scheduled.
• Ensure Life Safety & Emergency Preparedness - Maintain and troubleshoot fire safety systems, generators, sprinkler systems, and alarm panels, ensuring compliance with Life Safety Code procedures.

This Job Also Requires

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minnesota Boiler Operator's License
• Strong mechanical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment efficiently.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• On Call requirement on a rotating basis.
• Physical capability to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to pass state mandated background check.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to ensure effective communication with residents, staff, and families.
