General Statement of Duties
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a person for a part-time position as a Maintenance Technician I for Kernersville Lake Park.
Candidate must be able to work independently and with limited supervision. This position has regular public contact.
Work Schedule
March - November: Thursday - Saturday rotating shift every other week, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm
November - February: Wednesday, Thursday 8 hours per day
Benefits for this position include vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and 401k contribution.
Distinguishing Features
All applicants should have the following knowledge, skill and abilities:
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
Ability to independently adhere to a time schedule.
Ability to maintain order and ensure compliance with rules.
Ability to operate and care for power equipment and hand tools.
Ability to inspect and report needs for repairs.
Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
Minimum Education And Experience
Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance
A valid driver's license is required.
Must have demonstrated ability to safely operate small to medium motorized equipment.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the minimum requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Cleaning restrooms and shelters
Mowing, mulching, weeding/spraying, blowing debris and leaves
Trash/litter pick-up
Rescue boat operation
Working with the public
Performing various projects using a variety of equipment including tractors, mowers and various handheld power tools.
