DISHER is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Grand Rapids, MI to perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs in a manufacturing environment. The role includes conducting preventive maintenance and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in plant maintenance, effective communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Experience with PLCs and advanced electrical systems is a plus. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility for weekend work.
DISHER is currently partnering with the largest contract food manufacturer in North America producing and packaging convenience, baked, refrigerated, and frozen foods, as well as nutrition bars, for many of the world's premier brands. With 27 facilities across the U.S., DISHER handles end‑to‑end commercialization, research and development, food production, and packaging for major consumer brands. The Maintenance Technician performs diversified mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines, equipment, and plant facilities, including scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency repairs. This role also conducts regular preventive maintenance and maintains supporting documentation for all PM activities.
Shift: 2nd shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Mon‑Fri), 3rd shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Sun‑Thu) and every other weekend. Weekend work is required.
Experience with basic PLCs and can troubleshoot electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays), experience with compressor systems, air cylinders, sensors, hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, pressure cylinders). Building maintenance (small installations, light fixtures, plumbing, boilers).
Experience with advanced electrical—resolving electrical issues, reading and writing electrical diagrams, reading mechanical blueprints, building small panels. PLC—check inputs, outputs, understand ladder diagrams, basic drive programming (Powerflex 525). Basic machining, fabricating, welding. Understand thermocouple operation & tuning.
