Job summary

Hunt Military Housing Shared Services, LLC is hiring Maintenance Technicians at multiple levels to support housing communities. You will perform general maintenance and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and related areas, documenting work in accordance with policy.

Level 1–3 require 1+ to 7+ years of experience and EPA 608 certification within 180 days. Level 3 includes mentoring responsibilities; driving is part of duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge; daily use of technology platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service requests for furnaces, air-conditioning systems, appliances, water heaters, and other maintenance items.
  • Perform skilled work in one or more trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, locksmith).
  • Provide excellent customer service and document all work per policy.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in ready-for-repair state.
  • Follow preventive maintenance programs and routine tasks.
  • Assist in making ready vacated units including painting, drywall repair, and fixture work.
  • Perform emergency maintenance and fix water-related issues.
  • Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected promptly.
  • Drive for the company in company or personal vehicle for >50% of duties.
  • Level 3 Technicians mentor a team of technicians.

Job description

A Brief Overview

We are seeking Maintenance Technicians at multiple career levels to support the maintenance and readiness of our housing communities. Whether you are building your maintenance career or are an experienced technician with advanced trade expertise, we encourage you to apply.

The Maintenance Technician will provide general maintenance to rental housing and may also perform work to get rental units ready during change of occupancy. This role is a valuable member of the maintenance team and is responsible for checking, troubleshooting, making, and documenting routine repairs in air conditioning, water heaters, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and other building maintenance areas. Workers will frequently be outdoors in all weather conditions and in attics, crawl spaces, and other tight spaces as required.

What you will do
  • Respond to service requests for furnaces, air‑conditioning systems, appliances, water heaters, solar collection tanks, disposals, general plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other required maintenance items.
  • Perform skilled work in one or more trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or locksmith, requiring basic knowledge, skills, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service and document all work in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain equipment (tools, gauges, snakes, drills, etc.) in a ready-for-repair state.
  • Use equipment and chemicals properly, including personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow and adhere to a preventive maintenance program, performing required maintenance such as filter replacement.
  • Assist in making ready vacated units—including painting, sanding, varnishing, floor tile removal, dry‑wall repair, fixture repair or replacement, floor stripping, waxing, polishing, window repair or replacement—and may also perform exterior work as required.
  • Perform emergency maintenance, including sewage back‑ups, water main or lateral breaks, fires, weather‑related damage, other water leaks, and appliance repairs.
  • Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected promptly.
  • Drive for the company in a company, personal, or rental vehicle for more than 50% of work duties.
  • Level 3 Technicians mentor a team of technicians, focusing on efficient operations and troubleshooting assistance.
Qualifications by Level
  • Maintenance Technician – Level 1
    • 1–3 years of general maintenance knowledge and experience.
  • Maintenance Technician – Level 2
    • 4–6 years of advanced knowledge in one or more trades.
    • Must obtain EPA 608 Certification within 180 days of hire.
  • Maintenance Technician – Level 3
    • 7+ years of advanced expertise across multiple trades, including a trade certification or equivalent experience.
    • Previous experience leading or indirectly supervising is preferred.
    • Must obtain EPA 608 Certification within 180 days of hire.
    • Complete OSHA‑10 Training within one year of hire.
Qualifications for All Levels
  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more.
  • Team player who pays close attention to detail and prioritizes in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with a wide range of people.
  • Basic computer knowledge; daily use of technology platforms is required.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices.
  • Valid driver’s license, DL number required.
Compensation

This position may be filled at the Maintenance Technician I, II, or III level based on qualifications, experience, certifications, and technical expertise.

  • Maintenance Technician – Level 1
    • $23.60 – $28.21
  • Maintenance Technician – Level 2
    • $26.31 – $32.71
  • Maintenance Technician – Level 3
    • $31.21 – $37.85

The above ranges exclude fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Positions are eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries are determined by geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and experience.
