Job summary

AdventHealth in Maitland, Florida, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to assist in operation and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and alarms. You will keep accurate maintenance records and collaborate with other departments to minimize disruption to hospital operations.

The role requires the ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and work orders, plus basic MS Office and CMMS data entry skills.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.
• Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes.
• Knowledge of safe handling tools and equipment.
• Basic Microsoft Office computer skills.
• Proficient in the operation of gas and electric outside equipment and tools.
• Ability to read and understand work orders.
• Ability to enter data in CMMS System.
• Complete all work as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the operation and general maintenance of painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, locksmith, and alarm systems.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
• Keeps current on maintenance logs and documentation.
• Manages and maintains tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure maintenance tasks do not interfere with operations.
• Assists in tests, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical machinery, equipment, systems, and physical structures as scheduled or needed under direct supervision.
