Job summary

State of Tennessee in Jasper, TN is hiring a Building Maintenance Worker to perform routine and semi-skilled maintenance at the Nickajack Welcome Center in Marion County. You will handle carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and general repairs under supervision to ensure safe, functional facilities.

Applicants should have basic trade experience, the ability to read maintenance manuals, and a valid driver's license. This onsite role supports visitors and state operations daily.

Qualifications

• Experience equivalent to one year of full-time labor and trade work including routine building maintenance.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Onsite work at the Nickajack Welcome Center in Marion County, TN.

Responsibilities

• Identify maintenance issues and perform repairs or report to appropriate personnel.
• Operate hand and power tools, drills, saws, grinders and related equipment.
• Dismantle fixtures to access and replace defective parts.
• Perform basic HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and decorating tasks.
• Review preventative maintenance plans to keep equipment and buildings in good condition.
• Log work orders and time/materials used; interact with vendors and customers as needed.
• May operate a state-issued pickup truck, golf cart, or other vehicle.
