Job summary

Lineage is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support an industrial cold storage facility. This entry-level role focuses on developing hands-on skills across facility maintenance and material handling equipment, with safety as a priority.

You will assist with preventive maintenance on MHE, perform routine building maintenance, and participate in cross-training across multiple maintenance disciplines at Lineage. The position includes on-the-job training and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or related fields is preferred but not required.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic understanding and safety awareness.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance and basic repairs on material handling equipment (electric/propane forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks).
• Assist with basic troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on MHE and building systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on lighting, plumbing, HVAC, dock doors, racking, and general building systems.
• Conduct basic inspections and report wear, damage, or maintenance concerns.
• Support facility upkeep including exterior maintenance and clean work areas.
• Complete work orders, inspection records, and maintenance documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE use.
• Collaborate with experienced technicians, operations and facility personnel.
• Participate in training and cross-training across MHE, facilities, refrigeration and other maintenance areas.
• Ask questions and engage in training to develop technical skills.

At Lineage, innovation and efficiency drive everything we do. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support our industrial cold storage facility and essential equipment. This is an entry-level maintenance position designed for someone with a mechanical mindset who is looking to build a career in maintenance while developing hands-on skills across facility maintenance and material handling equipment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with preventative maintenance and basic repairs on material handling equipment, including electric and propane forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.

• Assist experienced technicians with basic troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on MHE and building systems.

• Perform routine maintenance on lighting, plumbing, HVAC, dock doors, racking, and general building systems.

• Conduct basic inspections and report equipment wear, damage, or potential maintenance concerns.

• Support facility upkeep, including snow removal, landscaping, exterior maintenance, and maintaining clean and organized work areas.

• Complete work orders, inspection records, and basic maintenance documentation.

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and safe work practices.

• Work collaboratively with experienced technicians, operations, and other facility personnel.

• Participate in training and cross-training opportunities involving MHE, facilities, refrigeration, and other maintenance disciplines.

• Ask questions, seek guidance, and actively participate in training to develop technical skills and knowledge.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support senior technicians with preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

• Assist with parts identification, inventory, and basic material organization.

• Follow established maintenance procedures and elevate equipment or facility concerns when additional support is needed.

• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

• Experience: Prior hands-on experience in maintenance, mechanical work, equipment repair, construction, automotive repair, or building maintenance is preferred but not required.

• Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical systems with a willingness to learn electrical, hydraulic, MHE, and facility maintenance.

• Technical Skills: Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools and follow written instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.

• Learning: Willingness to learn, accept direction, ask questions, and develop technical skills through hands-on training and experience.

• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with experienced technicians, operations, and other team members.

• Safety: Commitment to following company safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.

• Certifications: OSHA 10/30, forklift maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related certifications are a plus but not required.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, work in cold temperatures, and perform physically demanding maintenance activities.

Pay Range:$21.15 - $36.25
