Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to service CNC machinery and related systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure equipment meets production goals.

Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and replacing machine parts, reading work orders, maintaining safety standards, and collaborating with teams to keep downtime low. This role requires hands-on expertise with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

  • Three years CNC maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Experience with PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, gauges).
  • Strong safety mindset including lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machinery, electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
  • Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
  • Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work areas.
  • Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
  • Replace or repair metal, wood, leather, glass, or other lining in machines, or in equipment compartments or containers.

Education Requirements / Certifications


  • Three (3) years' experience with CNC machine maintenance preferred


Experience / Skill Requirements


  • Demonstrated experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance including motors, controls, power supplies, AC/DC theory, power distribution, PLC's, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission and pumps

  • Demonstrated ability to follow all established safe work procedures including, but not limited to personal protection equipment, lockout/tag-out requirements and electrical safety

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical parts manuals such as electrical and mechanical diagrams, and ability to effectively use and read gages, meters, calipers and other measuring tools

  • Effective and safe use of all required tools including, but not limited to, drills, saws, torches, welders, cranes & hoists, forklifts and other maintenance equipment

  • Ability to work other shifts, weekends and overtime as needed


Physical Requirements


  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts

  • Occasionally required to work in outside weather conditions and exposure to moderate cold and heat

  • Frequent exposure to various chemicals, lubricants, and grease


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
