Job summary

CHL Systems, a long-standing manufacturer, is hiring a Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and assist with repairs on production equipment and facility systems. This hands-on, entry-level role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude seeking a career in industrial maintenance.

You will learn to troubleshoot, document work orders, and follow GMP, LOTO, and PPE requirements while supporting senior technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical school or trade certification is preferred.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training is preferred.
• 0–2 years of maintenance or industrial experience.
• Basic understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and follow basic manuals and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery components, including bearings, shafts, and gears.
• Inspect equipment and report abnormalities, wear, or potential failures.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying possible causes.
• Support the installation and repair of machinery and facility systems.
• Assist senior technicians with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and work order records.
• Follow GMP and required safety procedures, including LOTO and PPE.
• Support emergency repairs as directed.

CHL Systems is hiring a Maintenance Technician I to support the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This is a hands-on, entry-level opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems who wants to build a career in industrial maintenance.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, and assist experienced technicians with repairs while developing the skills needed to progress to Maintenance Technician II.

What You’ll Do

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and required safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Support emergency repairs as directed

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical school or trade certification preferred
• OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training preferred
• 0–2 years of maintenance or industrial experience
• Exposure to a manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Foundational knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Basic understanding of preventive maintenance practices
• Ability to read and follow basic manuals and work instructions
• Willingness to learn troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Basic computer skills; experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is a plus
• Strong work ethic, reliability, integrity, and willingness to participate in ongoing training and skills development
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking, with regular climbing, bending, and reaching
• Work is performed primarily on-site in manufacturing, mechanical, and facility environments and may include indoor and outdoor work
• Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature variations, and mechanical hazards
• Occasional travel between company locations
• May require after-hours or on-call availability
• Strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures is required at all times
