Job summary

Trojan Battery Company in Lithonia, GA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems in the plant and support continuous improvement through suggested changes. You will follow preventive maintenance schedules and safety rules while contributing to quality and Lean initiatives.

Responsibilities include basic repairs, machine upkeep, and reporting abnormal conditions; you will use hand and power tools, read work instructions, and maintain good housekeeping

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in an industrial environment working in a maintenance (electrical) department.
• Good writing and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Word / Excel).
• Forklift Certified.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment while performing basic mechanical and electrical repair work.
• Notice and report any abnormal conditions/failures.
• Perform machine shop functions (sheet metal, steel layout and welding).
• Follow company policy, processes and action plans as it relates to all plant machinery.
• Must follow and understand production daily goals and requirements.

Maintenance Technician I will maintains production and facility equipment according to Company standards of safety and quality. Additionally, Maintenance Technician I supports an environment of continuous improvement by making and implementing suggestions.**Areas of Focus**Maintenance Technician I will follow the preventive maintenance schedule in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's recommendation and industry accepted best practices for all plant equipment.
