Maintenance Technician I Onsite, Moses Lake, WA

As a Maintenance Technician I at Terex/Genie, based in Moses Lake, WA you'll play a pivotal role in performing advanced maintenance and repairs on complex systems, overseeing and mentoring Maintenance Technician I and II team members, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key duties involve troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting inspections, managing maintenance schedules, and maintaining accurate records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). They also coordinate with other departments and external contractors and respond to emergency situations.

What you’ll do
  • Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnoses and repairs complex malfunctions in systems like pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and conveyor systems.
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance: Implements and performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and helps develop predictive maintenance programs.
  • Inspections and safety: Conducts regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues, safety hazards, and recommend improvements.
  • Team leadership and training: Guides, trains, and mentors junior technicians and helps prioritize work orders and projects.
  • Record keeping: Maintains accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment performance, spare parts inventory, and work order completion using a CMMS.
  • Project coordination: Works with maintenance planner, other departments, contractors, and vendors to schedule and complete repairs and projects effectively.
  • Emergency response: Responds to emergency situations to troubleshoot and perform necessary repairs.

Follows company policies, procedures, work instructions, documented systems, and regulatory requirements; including but not limited to all safety, health and environmental regulations and requirements.

Perform as a project manager in the completion of assigned projects. Delegates, assigns, and schedules projects for maintenance and facility team members. Occasionally validates inventory levels and orders parts when necessary.

What you’ll bring
  • Minimum 1-3+ years of experience in a maintenance/facilities technical role with demonstrated advancement and responsibility.
  • Proven experience in performing skilled maintenance on various systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Experience with control systems like programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is often required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Effective, related computer skills and technical background.
  • Proven strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees and customers.
  • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for 10+ hours per day.
  • Uses an iPad or tablet for logging and completing day to day tasks.
Additional Nice to Haves
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related degree.
  • Experience implementing Preventative Maintenance systems in the manufacturing industry.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a lead role, preferably over a maintenance/facilities team.
  • Significant experience in a position maintaining process equipment, machinery, tools, and facilities systems.
  • Knowledge and functional experience working in a total predictive maintenance program.
  • Knowledge of and use of Lean Principles, continuous improvement, process management, root cause analysis.
  • Performs safety checks on emergency systems like fire sprinklers and alarms.
