Job summary

Gene B. Glick Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Cambridge Square Grand Rapids/Plymouth Arms community. The role focuses on interior and exterior upkeep and providing resident satisfaction, with a $1,000 signing bonus paid after 6 months.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, grounds, and common areas, while ensuring safety and timely responses to requests, including after-hours emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintenance experience desirable.
• Valid driver's license in state of residence.
• Overtime and on-call availability.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, written and oral.
• Spanish language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests promptly and courteously.
• Repair/maintain electrical circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting.
• Repair/maintain plumbing fixtures (water heaters, lavatories, toilets, dishwashers).
• Repair/maintain basic appliances (refrigerator, range, disposal, dishwasher, washer, dryer).
• Repair carpeting and tile.
• Maintain lawns, grounds, landscaping, parking lots, and snow removal.
• Repair and maintain building exteriors and interior common areas.
• Complete preventative maintenance activities.
• Clean and maintain common areas.
• Prepare vacant apartments for market-ready condition (cleaning/painting).
• Provide resident support and respond to after-hours emergencies.

Overview

We are searching for a Maintenance Technician for our 204 unit Cambridge Square Grand Rapids/Plymouth Arms apartment community's.

*We are offering a one‑time $1,000 hiring bonus for this position (paid after 6 months of employment)*

The Maintenance Technician assists in maintaining the physical condition of the exterior and interior of the property and provide resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician must be able to perform the following tasks:

• Complete all maintenance requests in an efficient and courteous manner.


• Repair and maintain simple electrical circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.


• Repair, install and maintain basic plumbing fixtures such as water heaters, lavatories, toilets, dishwashers.


• Repair, install and maintain basic appliances such as refrigerator, range, disposal, dishwasher, washer, and dryer.


• Repair carpeting and tile.


• Maintain lawns, grounds, landscaping, and parking lots including snow removal.


• Repair and maintain building exteriors and interior common areas.


• Complete preventative maintenance activities.


• Cleaning and housekeeping of common areas.


• Prepare vacant apartment for market ready condition, may include cleaning and painting.


• Provide resident support and respond to after-office hours emergency calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.


• Demonstrated ability or experience in the maintenance field desirable.


• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residence.


• Able to work overtime and emergency call in.


• Must be able to communicate effectivelly verbally and in writing.


• Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.


• Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
