GSF Properties Inc. in Fresno, CA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our apartment community. You will perform preventative maintenance, handle service requests, and assist in preparing vacant units while maintaining grounds and curb appeal.

The ideal candidate has 6 months to 1 year of apartment maintenance experience and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs, with basic computer skills. On-call rotation and a Monday–Friday schedule are required.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months to 1 year of apartment maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.
• Ability to perform minor repairs such as patching walls and painting.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on appliances, carpentry, hardware, and basic HVAC/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs per company procedures and standards.
• Prepare vacant apartments to market-ready condition.
• Maintain community grounds and curb appeal; manage trash.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies.
• Maintain good relations with residents and vendors; report lease or house-rule violations.
• Schedule vendors and order supplies; ensure timely completion of work orders.

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining our apartment community by completing service requests, preparing vacant apartments for new residents, and ensuring our grounds and common areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and maintenance and repair work in areas including, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware, and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating procedures and standards.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments to ensure they are market-ready and meet company quality standards.
• Maintain community grounds and curb appeal and trash management.
• Be available for on call activity during off hours and emergencies as needed
• Maintain good public relations with residents and vendors
• Assist with annual apartment inspections and identifying action items
• Report violations of lease and house rules
• Timely completion of maintenance request, work orders and ensure tenant’s maintenance needs are being met
• Work with manager to schedule vendors and order necessary supplies
• Maintaining excellent curb appeal
• Help maintaining excellent curb appeal

Requirements

Job Requirements for Maintenance Technician I:

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of apartment maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, unit turns, and general maintenance repairs.
• Experience completing work orders and preparing vacant units for new residents.
• Ability to perform minor repairs such as patching walls, painting, and replacing hardware.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applications.
• Strong customer service skills with a resident-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions and receive feedback.
• Ability to work a regular schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
• Participation in an on-call rotation as needed.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance required.
