Job description

Legacy Residential is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician specializing in HVAC for a multifamily apartment community in Suitland, MD. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company with a strong history and a promote-from-within culture.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for effectively completing work orders and repairing HVAC systems, while also maximizing the living experience for residents.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Diagnosing, performing, inspecting, delegating, and monitoring property-wide maintenance and repairs in a timely and effective manner.
2. Ordering maintenance supplies, adhering to budgets, and communicating variances.
3. Maintaining all required logs.
4. Developing and executing a preventative maintenance program.
5. Scheduling and completing unit turns.
6. Coordinating unit renovations, including ordering supplies, scheduling, and supervising vendors.
7. Maintaining strong rapport with residents and delivering high-quality customer service.
8. Being on call as required.
9. Having your own tools.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
• HVAC certification.
• Five to seven years of experience in repairing HVAC systems and heat pumps.
• EPA certifications (Type I and II or Universal) for refrigerant recycling.

Customer Service Responsibilities:

• Communicating clearly with residents and responding to service requests and concerns professionally and promptly.
• Listening to requests and complaints in a calm, supportive, and open manner.
• Maintaining a clean and neat personal appearance.
• Demonstrating excellent customer service skills by treating residents, coworkers, supervisors, and vendors with respect, answering questions calmly and openly, and responding sensitively to concerns or complaints about maintenance services with a sense of urgency.

This is a full-time position with negotiable pay.
