Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Maintenance Workers at the medical center to perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general carpentry repairs, installations, assemblies, maintenance, and some fabrications.

Incumbents work under the direct supervision of the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor. To qualify, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, with evidence of training or experience supported by your resume.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and basic carpentry.
• Ability to lay out partitions, ceilings and floors.
• Skill in measuring and cutting wood, tile, and plastic.
• Ability to repair minor plumbing, electrical, sprinkler and air conditioning systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform small repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general carpentry duties.
• Install, assemble, maintain, repair and fabricate components of systems and equipment.
• Work under the direct supervision of the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor.
