Job summary

Bell Nursery in Culpeper/Stevensburg, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our greenhouse facility with maintenance, repair, upgrades, and improvements. The role focuses on irrigation systems, greenhouse upkeep, and production equipment, requiring basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge.

The position is full-time, on-site with day shifts; expect preventative maintenance, equipment installation, and issue troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of power equipment, electrical, and plumbing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment in problem solving.
• Works well in both a team environment and independently.
• Adjusts to changing conditions and willingness to work off‑shifts.
• Available for On‑Call Emergencies.
• Bilingual a Plus.

At Bell Nursery the Maintenance Technician will help with the overall maintenance, repair, upgrades, and improvements of our greenhouse facility. This role will perform regular maintenance and repairs of the greenhouse structure, production equipment, plumbing-PVC, and general housekeeping of the building. This is a hands‑on role requiring basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a focus on irrigation systems, greenhouse maintenance, and the installation and repair of production equipment.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Repairs mechanical equipment and machinery used in greenhouse operations
• Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant equipment
• Ensure functionality and reliability of all mechanical systems
• Install and maintain new equipment
