Maintenance Technician/Handyperson (Union 32BJ Relief)

Overview

Related Management is seeking an experienced Regional Maintenance Technician for our luxury residential portfolio in Manhattan. The Floater Pool Maintenance Technician will handle repairs across multiple sites, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliances. Responsibilities also include building exterior inspections and grounds maintenance, with a focus on customer service and attention to detail.

Location

Multiple sites within a Manhattan submarket, including Roosevelt Island and Long Island City.

Core Responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders (general repairs, plumbing, appliance repairs)
• Prepare vacant units for new tenants
• Maintain grounds, amenities, and BBQ grills (indoor/outdoor)
• Ensure equipment is operational and follow preventative maintenance schedules
• Troubleshoot and identify maintenance issues
• Report unsafe conditions to Maintenance Supervisor
• Engage with residents, guests, and colleagues courteously and service-oriented

Compensation

$30.67/hour

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of property maintenance experience
• Experience in luxury and affordable housing preferred
• Ability to work in a team
• HVAC repairs, cleaning, replacement
• Plumbing repairs, parts replacement, installation
• Carpentry repairs and installations (doors, shelves, countertops, locks)
• Painting (drywall, plaster, general painting)
• Electrical work (lighting, wiring, switches)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours
• Availability to work holidays and weekends
